The VSNU, the Association of Universities in The Netherlands, has collective agreements with academic publishers. These agreements allow researchers to publish their work under open-access licenses for no, or in some cases a reduced, publishing fee. These agreements apply if the corresponding author works at a Dutch university or Dutch academic hospital.
